As part of the St Andrews Medieval Music Weekend, Bill will appear with both Canty and Cappella Nova in two concerts on Sat. afternoon 18th Feb.
Canty will reconstruct a 13th century Scottish Mass on 18 February (including early Scottish polyphony from the ‘St Andrews Music Book’) to celebrate the 600th anniversary of the founding of St Andrews University. We’ll be joined by four of our finest male voices for an evening concert, exploring the riches of Scottish medieval repertoire. Both performances feature Bill.
1.15-2pm – Canty in St Salvator’s Chapel. ‘A Scottish LadyMass’ – free!
8pm – Canty/Cappella Nova in St Salvator’s Chapel – ticket info forthcoming.
Programme includes rare plainchant and polyphony in praise of St Andrew (including some ‘world premieres in modern times’) and wonderful examples of conductus and organum from the St Andrews Music book.
