Project Lèirsinn, Gaelic for “vision”, will stage three performances in the Scots and Irish style of traditional music from the early 17th century to the present. Lèirsinn will celebrate the compositions of the blind composers of the 17th century, harpers Ruairi Dall O Cathain, Ruaridh Dall Morison and Turlough O Carolan, piper Iain Dall Mackay as well as 18th century fiddle player John Riddell. Performances will take place in Ross-shire and Inverness and they will give audiences the chance to hear well-known musicians Duncan MacGillvray (pipes/whistles), Bill Taylor (wire-strung clarsach), Alpha Munro (fiddle), Fiona J. Mackenzie (song) and Fiona Cameron (guitar) collaborate with professional musicians/composers Mark Thow (pipes/whistles/accordion) and Fiona Kyle (gut-strung clarsach).
