The Belgian ensemble Quadrivium brings the rich musical tradition of the Middle Ages to life. The musicians of Quadrivium display a feeling for nuance as they succeed in revealing that tradition's subtle palette of colours with just a soprano voice, a recorder, a harp, and a lute. A link with our own time is made via the work of the Belgian composer Janpieter Biesemans (born in 1939), whose harmonies and melodies fit in with the rest of the programme.
